A Mississauga basketball player has been selected to participate in the North Pole Hoops Ontario Showcase this weekend in Orangeville.
St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School's Myles Charvis, ranked 48th among Canadian prospects for the 2013 graduating class, will take part in the three-day event began with yesterday's combine drills and skill development session.
Chris Ward, a renowned trainer who currently works with Jared Jeffries and Renaldo Balkman of the National Basketball Association's New York Knicks, will lead prospects through drills and workouts.
Participants will compete against each other today and the top players of the weekend will be selected to play in the North Pole Hoops all-star game tomorrow. 
A slam dunk competition and three-point contest are also part of the weekend festivities.
