City League Hoops Program

The MMBA is introducing a new basketball league for youth between the ages of 8 to 13. See Cityleaguehoops.ca for more information about the league. Applications can be filled in online below, or sent to info@cityleaguehoops.ca to the attention of Alex Lambevski, City League Hoops, Program Manager.

Assistant Coach City League Hoops (1 position remaining)

Saturdays 9am to 5pm October to December 2014 and January to May 2015 - We are looking for enthusiastic coaches with some experience in either a head coach or assistant coach role in a basketball program or team. The candidates must know basketball well and be able to teach plays, defensive principles and motivate players.

The assistant coaches will be responsible for:

• Running stations for evaluations, or to teach a play, principle or skill

• Coaching a team during games with an emphasis on team and fair play

• Treating players, parents, and head coach with courtesy and respect

• Ensuring we are following safe play and fair play guidelines

• Motivating players in a positive energetic manner

• Helping with keeping games on schedule and interacting with players when not coaching games.

Development Program

The MMBA Development Program is for beginner to intermediate basketball players for ages 4 to 18. Time during each session is dedicated to building skills as well as game scrimmages. Times and locations vary. More information about this programming can be found under Development League Programs (Ages 4 - 18).

Development Program Convenors

Development Convenors at each session are responsible for the weekly practise plans for teaching basketball to beginner to intermediate players. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years in a coaching role. Locations and times vary. Program run from Oct to Dec. Send your application to our office via email to info@mmba.on.ca
